carteret county education system Carteret County Schools consistently rank among the top school systems in the state for academic achievement. In fact, in North Carolina, there are a total of 115 school systems and Carteret County Schools rank third for nine subject End-of-Course scores (mostly high-school). For grades 3-8, Carteret County schools rank 12th reading and 20th for math. These rankings show that the teachers and educators are hard-working and dedicated to the education of their students.

nc school system Recently, in the 2004-05 school year, 7 of the 16 schools were awarded the title North Carolina "Honor Schools of Excellence". Two schools received the title of "School of Excellence" and four schools were titled "School of Distinction". Our teachers and students are proud of these titles and it shows that all of their efforts consistently pay off.
